When children experience social, emotional or interpersonal difficulties, it affects their behavior and interferes with their daily lives.
The Children's Home provides individual and family counseling services to improve the functioning of the child and the family. These services are provided on The Children's Home Madison Road campus and in home, school, and community settings.
Specialty areas of focus include:
- School-based counseling
- Counseling for youth who have experienced a traumatic event(s)
- Counseling for Caregivers
- Substance use counseling
- Family counseling
- Attachment therapy
- Theraplay
- Infant mental health
This office-based mental health treatment service is available to parents and caregivers of children currently receiving services from The Children’s Home. Therapists utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches, dependent on the individual needs of the client. These include: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and client-centered therapy.
